Restroom – Wikipedia

michael jhon

Restroom is a euphemism for a public toilet, in a publicly accessible location, or less frequently a toilet room, in a private residence. Different dialects use “bathroom” and “restroom” (American English), “bathroom” (usually includes a bathtub or shower) and “washroom” (just toilet and sink) (Canadian English), and “WC” (an initialism for “water closet”), “lavatory” and its abbreviation “lav” (British English).

The term restroom derived from the fact that in early 1900s through to the middle of the century up-scale restaurants, theatres and performing facilities would often have comfortable chairs or sofas located within or in a room directly adjacent to the actual toilet and sink facilities, something which can be seen in some movies of the time period. An example of this is the description of a “movie palace” which was opening in 1921 which was described as including ” … a rest-room for the fair sex and a lounging

A bathroom (also known as a restroom, washroom, toilet or lavatory) is where people go for personal hygiene activities. This includes use of the toilet, wash their hands, brush their teeth, take a bath, or take a shower. The room may also contain a sink, often called a “wash basin”, “hair basin” or “hand basin” (in parts of the United States) and often a “lavatory.” In the United States, “bathroom” mostly means “a room containing a lavatory.” In other countries this is mostly called the “toilet”. The word “bathroom” is also used in the United States for a public toilet or “restroom.” Bathrooms also have bathroom cabinets.

Baths go back to 3,000 B.C. Usually, a town would have a special building for people to take baths, which sometimes were part of a religious ceremony. Starting in the 16th century, public baths started declining. People at this time

A bathroom is a room for personal hygiene activities, generally containing a toilet, a sink (basin) and either a bathtub, a shower, or both. In some countries, the toilet is usually included in the bathroom, whereas other cultures consider this insanitary or impractical, and give that fixture a room of its own. The toilet may even be outside of the home in the case of pit latrines. It may also be a question of available space in the house whether the

Kitchen Cabinet – Wikipedia

michael jhon

The Kitchen Cabinet was a term used by political opponents of President of the United States Andrew Jackson to describe his ginger group, the collection of unofficial advisors he consulted in parallel to the United States Cabinet (the “parlor cabinet”) following his purge of the cabinet at the end of the Eaton affair and his break with Vice President John C. Calhoun in 1831.[1][2]

Coinage[edit]

Secretary of State Martin Van Buren was a widower, and since he had no wife to become involved in the Eaton controversy he managed to avoid becoming entangled himself. In 1831 he resigned his cabinet post, as did Secretary of War John Eaton, in order to give Jackson a reason to re-order his cabinet and dismiss Calhoun allies. Jackson then dismissed Calhounites Samuel D. Ingham, John Branch, and John M. Berrien. Van Buren, whom Jackson had already indicated he wanted

Practice of growing and cultivating plants

Gardening is the practice of growing and cultivating plants as part of horticulture. In gardens, ornamental plants are often grown for their flowers, foliage, or overall appearance; useful plants, such as root vegetables, leaf vegetables, fruits, and herbs, are grown for consumption, for use as dyes, or for medicinal or cosmetic use. Gardening is considered by many people to be a relaxing activity.

Gardening ranges in scale from fruit orchards, to long boulevard plantings with one or more different types of shrubs, trees, and herbaceous plants, to residential back gardens including lawns and foundation plantings, and to container gardens grown inside or outside. Gardening may be very specialized, with only one type of plant grown, or involve a variety of plants in mixed plantings. It involves an active participation in the growing of plants, and tends to be labor-intensive, which differentiates it from farming

The bidet is designed to promote personal hygiene, and is used after defecation, and before and after sexual intercourse, especially by females. In several European countries, a bidet is today required by law to be present in every bathroom containing a toilet bowl.
