- AirSoap can capture smaller particles and airborne pathogens than HEPA air purifiers
- It has been proven effective against influenza A-H3N2 virus
- It’s quiet and easy to maintain
PhoneSoap — the maker of UV light sanitizers — expanded its product lineup today with the launch of an air purifier. The aptly named AirSoap sets itself apart in this product space by being able to eliminate viruses that HEPA air purifiers cannot.
The trick has been accomplished via a technology called Electric Wind. It helps the air purifier eliminate bacteria and viruses by creating a high-energy plasma field. The latter also allows the air purifier to capture airborne particles that measure as little as 14 nm. For comparison, HEPA air purifiers can absorb airborne particles larger than 300 nm.
According to PhoneSoap, the product can capture tiny pathogens like coronaviruses and Influenza which measure below 120 nm. It hasn’t been tested with the COVID-19-causing SARS-COV-2 just yet, but it has been proven to eliminate more than 99.99% of the smaller influenza A-H3N2 virus.
Electric Wind makes the AirSoap cheaper and easier to maintain than a HEPA air purifier. Its graphene collecting plates are washable and don’t need costly replacements over time.
Other key features of the AirSoap air purifier include an elegant design, an impressively quiet operation, low energy consumption, and several airflow speeds to choose from. The product is effective for up to 400 square feet of living space.
In today’s world, we’re here for any product that can help us live a more germ-free life. While AirSoap won’t stop the COVID-19 spread, its proven abilities to fight off viruses will give us a little more peace of mind that we’re breathing cleaner air.
